Barmes de l'Ours Map

Begin with the first stage of the Tour du Mont Roup, but instead of following the climb round to the left, climb to the right of a large rocky and pass behind it beneath the mighty east face of the Sana. Leaving this huge face streaking with aesthetic couloirs to your right, continue to the obvious Col. Either ski back down the way you came before veering right, or if you're sure of stability carry on up the ridge to the east to the different entries to the various north-facing slopes of the Barmes de l'Ours. The further along the relatively flat-topped peak you go, the longer and steeper the descent (and therefore the greater the consequences should something go wrong). Whichever option you choose affords some fabulous wide open rolling terrain that feels miles away from any hustle and bustle. All routes lead into the Pisset valley and the same route back as the Tour du Mont Roup.
