Freeride Skiing Extreme
From the Laguna's chairlift, take the red slope Olimpica - this slope is pretty flat at the beginning and a bit narrow. The best approach is to take as much speed possible to join the black slope Tajo de la virgin. Please note that this slope is closed most of the time so as soon as you leave the red slopes you are already in the backcountry. Stay as high as you can - most of the time the track will be in. This is the only way to access this line. You can clearly see where there is a nice gully, we still need to carry on as high as possible above it. Once the gully area passed there is a little ridge. Continue the traverse to get access to the Laguna's area beyond this ridge - this is a hike of about 10 minutes. Bear in mind we are traversing a real steep part, between 45 to 50 degrees so take particular care. Continue the really long traverse for about 500 meters at the highest level possible. The time to cross over this part of the mountain until joining the next higher ridge is about 25- 45 minutes, depending on the snowpack. You will arrive at a kind of plateau where you can get access to a really large cliff. Take a good look at what you are about to do, as the cliff needs to be jumped expertly. This could be anywhere from 8- 20 metres but at this height in the shade it should be good snow for the landing, leading 100 metres lower down to the second cliff, below which you need to keep your speed to get back to the Cartujo's red slope and the Laguna chairlift.
