This is a relatively flat 18km loop encircling the historic island of Lovö, Ekerö. Enjoy a run through the thriving nature reserve that sits next to Lake Mälaren, the third-largest freshwater lake in Sweden. The trail dates back to 1974, and although it's popular with hikers and mountain bikers, it's also perfect for trail runners too. The route switches it up between singletrack, dirt roads, and scrambling rocky root patches. The trail takes you through charming agricultural landscapes, into oak and pine forests, and along the waterfront.
