An enjoyable line down the west facing couloir from the top of Mont Gele
Freeride Skiing Difficult
The snow transforms rapidly on the sunny side of the Mont Gele so you have to be quick to enjoy fresh snow here. But you can often find good spring conditions here in the early afternoon too. Descend and then traverse from the lift station across the south face to find the entrance to the west facing couloir de la Chaux. Warning: be careful of the steeper terrain above you as you traverse. Ski the couloir and rejoin the pistes above La Chaux. There is a variant to the couloir accessed a little lower down the South face.
Difficult
Serious gradient of 30-38 degrees where a real risk of slipping exists.
