The Aiguille de l’Amône is a beautiful line, with the top section set above extreme exposure.

Description

I did this line with Jeremy Jones as part of his film Deeper: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f4c2nAl0jew , normally when approaching from the Swiss side you would stay in the Cabane de l’A Neuve and set off early the next morning. But Jeremy and I had a short weather window and so set off from the valley floor at 1am, climbing 2000m to turn around and drop in again at - 8am

Riding above the cliff and the exposure, is a bit intimidating but from having climbed it and felt the snow it felt so much better dropping in and we knew exactly what to expect.

The best thing about the line was the massive diner before leaving in the evening!! It was very important so that we would stock up a maximum of calories…

Also the fact of walking by night for so long, as you just don’t realise the time passing and the vertical meters getting climbed...
