From the top of Le Fornet chair turn right then cross the ridge at the saddle ahead. Traverse left (staying high) for 200m before dropping down into the valley below, take care during the traverse as there is a rocky dropoff below. Drop down into the valley through open, rolling terrain with some good banks, lips and small jumps. Pass close to the isolated chalet and from there stay high and to the left. Follow the ridge down to the Lac des Mines d'Or, stay right and continue down through the clearing to meet the road to Erigne. A bus stops at Erigne and runs into Morzine every hour.
Possibly the most well-known itinerary line in the PdS, this line gets tracked-out quickly after snow and on a good day there can sometimes be piste-like crowds. But if you can be first on the scene you'll enjoy a long, epic descent through terrain that feels wild and remote. The upper section of this route is prone to slips - gear and knowledge required.
Moderate
Slopes become slightly steeper at around 25-30 degrees.
