Helvellyn via Sticks Pass Map

This route is good in both directions, with some great technical singletrack climbing on the way up from the old Glenridding mines, (as well as an inevitable amount of pushing) and what many would vote as one of the best descents in the Lakes. The route summits Sticks Pass before turning and undulating (big undulations!) over to Helvellyn. From the summit, the outward journey is simply reversed for some fantastic technical and challenging singletrack riding all the way down to the pubs and cafes of Glenridding.

Difficulty

Severe

Widely variable, narrow trail tread with steeper grades and unavoidable obstacles of 15in/38cm tall or less. Obstacles may include unavoidable bridges 24in/61cm wide or less, large rocks, gravel, difficult root sections, and more. Ideal for advanced-level riders.
