Whinlatter Forest Altura Trail North Loop Map

At approximately 9.5 kilometres in length and fully waymarked, this trail features some wonderful flowing sections of singletrack. There's some steep climbing in the first half of the loop, but riders are well rewarded with what some claim to be the best downhill in the UK. Huge sweeping berms, technical forest sections and optional black graded features can all be found along the trail. The trail is best suited to proficient mountain bikers with a good level of fitness and technical trail-riding ability.

Mostly stable trail tread with some variability featuring larger and more unavoidable obstacles that may include, but not be limited to: bigger stones, roots, steps, and narrow curves. Compared to lower intermediate, technical difficulty is more advanced and grades of slopes are steeper. Ideal for upper intermediate riders.
