If you’ve ever thought to yourself, “wow, Colorado’s Rocky Mountains really are ROCKY. I wish I could just find a smooth, flowy, classic cross country trail to pedal for miles and miles!” then the Summit Cove/Soda Creek area is the perfect zone for you!

Description

This network of singletrack located in between Keystone and Breckenridge is pure cross country mountain biking. While the occasional rock garden will punctuate the trail, all things considered this loop is about one thing: banging out miles of sweet singletrack in drop-dead-gorgeous surroundings.

For beginners looking for an easier loop, take a right at the ranch before the Red Trail.

Once on the red trail, this route begins climbing in earnest, gaining some significant elevation as it makes its way all the way up to the Colorado Trail. Of course, the best views of the valley are found here: high up on the ridge, with the rolling hills spread out below.

Dropping back down is fast and entertaining, but again, the singletrack is overall relatively non technical.

Once back down in the valley and on the Soda Creek trail itself, several different options present themselves as you work your way back toward Lake Dillon. Here, you can opt for some slightly more technical singletrack that twists through the dense forest, if you’re so inclined.

If you long for the days of old school cross country riding, covering miles and miles of smooth singletrack, then this loop ride will bring you to your happy place!
