To approach the chute, park at the White Pine trailhead and follow the trail towards the first branch and take the right fork by the creek and wrap around into Red Pine Canyon. From here keep working up the canyon until you reach the bridge that crosses over to Maybird. Then hike to the E, away from the bridge and you'll end up on the apron to the chute. From here just boot up until you hit the ridge, or get as high as is required.

Description

The Boston Strangler is a short and steep chute that sees very little traffic. It's only 500 feet long, but it's some great steep skiing. It's a bit hidden, but easy to get to. A fun line to hit up on your way to, or from the Pfiefferhorn. It's wide enough for good skiing and then chokes down (hence the name) really tight right before the nice apron finish.

Difficulty

Severe

Steep skiing at 38-45 degrees. This requires very good technique and the risk of falling has serious consequences.

Medium Exposure (E2)

2 out of 4

As well as the slope itself, there are some obstacles (such as rock outcrops) which could aggravate injury.
