Ski Touring Extreme
This is a popular ski touring route which is generally considered to be extreme. It's remote, it features high exposure (e3) and is typically done between February and May. From a low point of 2 km to the maximum altitude of 2.4 km, the route covers 448 m, 0 vertical metres of ascent and 390 vertical metres of descent. It's graded 4.2 and Labande grade 5. You'll need rope, skins, ice axe and crampons to complete it safely.
The route ascends the couloir, with two ice pitches, or rock depending on coverage. The line reaches 46 degrees in pitch, and a fall above the rappel could result in major injury or death. This line requires alpine climbing and ski mountaineering skills to safely accomplish.
