While most of the Teton Pass trails are gnarly downhill runs, Black Canyon, on the other hand, is a long time favorite XC trail for Jackson Hole locals. With the ability to still shuttle this trail using Teton Pass, it’s now a popular backcountry enduro-style descent.

Description

Even with a shuttle it’s not all descending. From the top of Teton pass, riders must either hike-a-bike for 30-40 minutes or endure a grunt of a pedal to get back to Black Canyon.

Here’s how Mountain Bike the Tetons describes it: "An old school mountain bike trail that starts off steep with switchbacks and ends with plenty of flow on the lower sections. A long-time local favorite XC trail, offers great views at the top and a few fun stream crossings at the bottom.”
