E.N.S.A. Couloir Map

A super classic. After leaving the piste off the Brevent summit locate the obvious brêche at the start of the couloir. There is a small steep step just before entrance. Once through the initial steep section, sometimes requiring a abseil/rappel (35m), ski the superb couloir which offers a great introduction to Chamonix steep skiing. As you descend the couloir the angle kicks back and it widens offering great freeride terrain after a spicy start. Ski to the valley floor before following the walkers trail back to the Planpraz telecabin. Be aware of avalanche risk in the couloir and all the way down the route. The sunny aspect means you need to choose your timing wisely.
