Freeride Skiing Severe
This is a popular freeride skiing route which is generally considered to be severe. It's remote, it features medium exposure (e2) and is typically done between February and March. From a low point of 1.9 km to the maximum altitude of 2.6 km, the route covers 1.6 km, 2 vertical metres of ascent and 691 vertical metres of descent. It's graded 3.2 and Labande grade 4.
For more interest and a steeper skiing than the classic Banana descent, head left towards the couloirs above the Joseray piste. The couloirs are quite steep and shouldn't be underestimated. You can continue to the valley or head left of the line shown back to the Loye chair.
Severe
Steep skiing at 38-45 degrees. This requires very good technique and the risk of falling has serious consequences.
