Vardehornet Map

Vardehornet and its little brother Nivane often has good snow early in the winter and offers various descents.

Description

Park your car at the parking lot next to Vikelva and a power generator. Follow the road that goes north, straight up the hill. When you pass the tree line, leave the road and follow the ridge in N-W direction to the topp of Nivane at 936 m.a.s.l.

You can either turn around here or follow the ridge on its right hand side to N-E, leading the way to the summit of Vardehornet.

There are two main options for descent:

  1. Descent the ascending route down from Nivane in moderate terrain.
  2. Choose between one lines in the east face of Vardehornet. See "Vardehornet east face" for description.
