This is a summit with a fantastic view over the massif of Kolåstinden and with a little challange for those who want to go all the way to the summit. Several alternatives for the descent and good snow make this an attractive objective for skiers of all levels.

Park your car in the area of the bridge at Kolåsen. Follow the road to the north into Romedalen. Right before Årsætersætra, turn to the west and follow the river which will soon take you up above the tree line and into a big bowl.

Follow the hill via its most gentle slope, preferably a bit to the left, while steadily turning more to the north. In front you will see a ridge running north-south - the summit of Kjerringa is on the north end of this ridge. Right before the summit you arrive at a col. If you want to go all the way to the summit you have to leave your skis behind and put on crampons and ice axe. The climb to the summit is not very hard, but it is exposed! From the summit you can enjoy a spectacular view.

For the descent there are several options: (1) Descend the ascent route through moderate and playful terrain. This is fun skiing. (2) From the col you have a steep west facing couloir going down to Langedalen. (3) Further south on the ridge you have another big west facing couloir going down to Langedalen (40 degrees). (4) From the southern tip of the ridge you can ski down the south face to Ljosådalen and further down to Follestaddalen.

Slopes become slightly steeper at around 25-30 degrees.
