There are several roads up to Storsteinnestinden, here it's described as passing through the Sjurdalen on the east side. You park the car before reaching Kattfjordvatnet (you'll see some small huts on the right hand side).

The trip takes 4-5 hours. The normal route runs in both occasionally over 30 degrees of terrain and potential snow avalanche zones, so you have to be aware of the conditions here.

You start by heading towards Sjurdalen, crossing a bridge at the very beginning and working your way up the valley. Continue inward into the valley as you keep to the west of the river flowing there. You follow a small ridge formation to the west until you reach a small ascent which takes you up to the water at 561m. Walk along the water until it becomes a little easier to go up west. Here it's steep, consider whether you should climb with bigger distance between group members.

The route continues for a while in a westerly direction before turning further north and finally you follow a small ridge up to the top.

Storsteinnestinden offers many descent alternatives. From the top you can head down to the east, where you went up. To the west is also possible, this is an alternative route up as well. In addition, there are some west-facing couloirs along the ridge, that extend to the front top, 884. These are then in very exposed terrain, but offer steep skiing at around 40 degrees. One last option is to the north, but this is a completely different tour.
