Some of the biggest cliff drops at Northstar
Freeride Skiing Severe
Northstar's not a resort known for having perilously steep terrain and massive cliff drops, but these cliffs directly under Tahoe Zephyr Express are one rare instance of the resort containing some more challenging terrain. While these are modest in size compared to cliffs of resorts such as Kirkwood and Palisades Tahoe, these are still fun and offer a 10-15 foot drop based on snow coverage. You're directly under the lift so it's not a great place to mess up. Note that you'll have to hike up one side of these cliffs to be able to ski them so be prepared for that. One final thing is be careful after you've landed as there are inconvenient trees that'll most likely get in your way!
Severe
Steep skiing at 38-45 degrees. This requires very good technique and the risk of falling has serious consequences.
