Narrow Chute Left Map

A beautiful hourglass couloir above Avalanche Basin, Narrow Chute Left is often guarded by a large cornice. The left side of this chute is hemmed in by the rocky edge of A-Basin Buttress, making this a dramatic and aesthetic run. The easiest entrance is on the right. Below the chute, watch for chunks of cornice and avalanche debris as this is run is prone to constant sloughing. Access from either Southback gate along the Throne ridge bootpack. Traverse around the back of the Throne to Avalanche Basin (A-Basin). Narrow Chute Right and Left are the first entrances after the short hiking traverse behind A-Basin Buttress.
