New Zealand's ski resorts might be relatively small but they provide access to some incredible adventures

The so-called "Land of the White Cloud", New Zealand is one of the World's most beautiful and peaceful countries. The weather is not always particularly peaceful but the unpredictable and often savage climate means that ski conditions can suddenly transform and provide you with an unexpected gift.
The beauty of the routes described here (which are a combination of pure freeride lines and short ski tours accessed from a lift) is that they all sit on slightly different aspects across various ski areas. As such, skiers armed with a car, some flexibility and the ability to judge conditions will have a great time working their way through these lines and (hopefully) skiing them straight after snowfalls!
