This provides a slightly easier way to access the Perrins bowl, but the terrain is still serious, and very good route-finding is required. From the Dôme des Petites Rousses, follow the first part of the La Fare routes northwards into the shallow valley. Where this turns slightly right towards the north-east, continue following it for about 200m, until a secondary shelf appears on the left, at the top of the cliff. Follow this slightly scooped shelf for another 500 metres until you reach a small valley coming in from the right and dropping over the face on your left. This is the entrance to the couloir, which is short and sweet, and not too hard. Once out of the couloir proper, bear left across the bowl, heading for a small col just below the large cliff on the left, where you join the Perrins North route, and a ski out to L'Alpette.
