Col Pers, avoiding Gorge Map

This long adventurous journey is a Val d'Isere classic but it should not be under estimated. The environment is serious and well away from the pistes and safety of the resort. You should be properly equipped. This route is an alternative to the classic line which doesn't take the Malpasset gorge. The line is less obvious and route finding is a little more complicated. It is easier to get to the Col Pers from the Montet lift but you can also get there from the Cascade Express. Traverse skiers left keeping as high as possible to reach the legendary Col Pers - your window to a world of fantastic off-piste skiing. From the col follow a line heading generally left to leave the main bowl and traverse over the shoulder in to a shelf which descends parallel to the gorge. It is also possible to head much further left over a small col to join the bowl that leads to the Grand Vallon variant.
