You would be mad not to stay the night and experience the delicious food at La Jolie Bergerie either before setting off or even better as a reward at the end of a loop from here. Authentic alpine hospitality with incredible italian cuisine and a setting that postcards dream of.

Description

Setting off from the village after a calm stroll through the local forest, the wild path starts winding you towards the higher alpine. Whilst straight forward it is exposed to steep ground in parts and not suitable for very young children.

Stop off at the alpage where the local 'Herens' cows are kept during the summer months before continuing up the broken and steep path to the beautiful lake Liconi.

A few metres more brings you to the Bivouac Luigi Pascal. Few huts can boast such a spectacular location and if you can face the extra weight of bringing your own food up with you for a less luxurious dinner than at the Petite Bergerie and a night in the (comfortable) hut at altitude, it's possibly the best place to watch the sunrise over Mont Blanc, the Grand Jorasse and the high alpine peaks of the Chamonix massif. Alternatively descend on to the comfort of the lower altitudes and picturesque hamlet of La Suche where you'll find the family run "Alessio Allegri" or also known as "Baita La Suche" for a night of rest and local cuisine. http://www.hotelcroux.it/datapage.asp?id=17&l=3
