Craggy Gardens Trail Map

Craggy Gardens is a short but extremely scenic hike that leads to an incredible viewpoint high on the ridge along the Blue Ridge Parkway. This short trail is renowned for its dense tree covering and thick rhododendron tunnels that you'll hike through. During the spring rhododendron bloom, these tunnels turn into a series of incredible colorful arches!

Description

The views from the upper reaches of this hike, both from the picnic area and from a rocky bald on top of the ridge, are absolutely breathtaking! You'll enjoy long-range views over the Blue Ridge Mountains—a rare treat, thanks to the dense tree cover in most places.

While this trail is quite short and relatively easy, you can still expect to encounter some root webs, rocks, and steep staircases.
