Description

Austria is renowned for its expansive system of lifts that make it one of the most impressive places to downhill ski in the world. In the summertime, the lifts instead carry riders and their bikes to the tops of the mountains, so they can drop in and shred down some of the world’s best downhill mountain biking parks!

While France and Switzerland somehow seem to get all the hype, Austria’s bike parks are certifiably some of the very best in the world. And of all the bike parks in Austria, these five are arguably the best of the best. Bike-Circus Saalbach-Hinterglemm and Bikepark Leogang are two of the most expansive parks anywhere, with Leogang frequently serving as a stop for the UCI Downhill World Cup. Mount Petzen is home to the world’s longest flow country trail, the topic of several viral mountain biking videos. Bikepark Innsbruck, especially when combined with Tirol, makes for an amazing location to ride in one of the coolest towns in Austria. And finally, Bike Republic Sölden seems to fly a bit below the radar but is home to an absolutely massive array of mountain bike trails.

In this guidebook, you’ll find some of the best trails in the best bike parks—but all of these bike parks offer many more trails than you’ll see here! This is just a sampler to whet your appetite—click out of the guidebook and into FATMAP’s public index for ALL of the trails!
