Mountain Biking Moderate, Difficult, Severe

Description

Zell am See is a charming lakeside town in Salsberg, famous for its excellent ski resort, beautiful landscapes, and great hiking. Although mountain biking is not Zell am See’s main point of attraction, there is still a good variety of routes—from easy tours to exhilarating downhill.

Located between the rugged Upper Toern and the grassy Pinzgau mountain ranges, Zell am See has a very diverse topography, which is perfect if you are looking for a variety of adventurous rides. The area around Zell am See is also expansive, with the resort incorporating the nearby Kaprun, and with free public transport for tourists between all areas in the local vicinity.

If you want quaint hut stops and shady forest sections, then try the Hundstein Loop Tour in the Thumersbach area. But if you are more into downhill thrills on big mountain terrain, then head up the Kitzsteinhorn for the classic Wüstlau trail. Dive into this guidebook for these routes and more!
