This hike begins right in town, so you can easily get there on foot from the Jasper town center. It goes immediately into the forest and uphill rather quickly at first, but then flattens out. It wanders through forest and fields, passing a few small lakes and marshy areas. You are likely to see lot of waterfowl and perhaps deer, elk, or moose.
