This is a great first ski tour - it follows an easy angled valley, with stunning views on the way up and from the col at the top. The only steep bit is the last 50m to the col and it's not that steep. It can be a popular ski tour so expect to see others there.

Description

From the parking cross the bridge and follow the ski de fond track south east. Break off the track skiers right (south). This takes you up to a small narrowing between some trees and from there back into an open section. Keep heading up until you come to a more heavily forested section then climb through the woods until it opens out. Then start to head up the valley - it climbs at a very steady angle with the odd steeper bit and the last steep bit to the col. From the col you can climb the peak to the left (Pic Traversier) if you fancy some steeper ground.

Descent

From the col ski back down the open slopes, stick to left hand side. This gives the slightly nicer descent and as you get down towards the trees you have a few options. If you head skiers left you can pick more open spaces in the trees, which is a little easier. Or continue straight down through the trees which can be a little tight for turning but still fun. Once through the trees you are back on the open fields above the ski de fond track, ski back to the track and the follow it back to the parking.
