Hiking Moderate
This is a popular hiking route which is generally considered to be moderate. It's remote, it features low exposure and is typically done between June and September. From a low point of 1.8 km to the maximum altitude of 2.4 km, the route covers 9.7 km, 826 vertical metres of ascent and 611 vertical metres of descent.
The alpine trails above Courmayeur treat you to beautiful views and signature italian hospitality at either end.
The Rifugio Bonatti is large and comfortable but also a popular stop on the classic Tour du Mont Blanc so can be busy during the high summer season.

Hiking along trails with some uneven terrain and small hills. Small rocks and roots may be present.
The path is on completely flat land and potential injury is limited to falling over.

Day 5: Although this day is more of a detour than anything, it is a wonderful one in good weather. If the weather is bad or you're pushed for time, get the bus from Courmayeur to Arp Nouva to join stage 6 and skip out this stage.
