Description

Hiking destinations simply do not get any better than the Ahornbahn cable car; it whisks you up to over 2000 metres, where a maze of paths and summits - all with the legendary peaks of the Zillertal as a backdrop - await. The quality of the hiking matches that of the scenery and there is truly something for everyone here.

In this guidebook you'll find 5 hikes which encapsulate what the Ahornbahn has to offer. There's an easy stroll, suitable for the whole family, a straightforward summit for beginner hikers, a roundtrip to a Tirolian mountain hut, and 2 big routes to the summit of the Ahornspitze peak, after which the cable car itself is named. As this guidebook proves, you could easily come to the Zillertal for a week and have a fantastic trip by going no further than the Ahornbahn!

If you do decide to venture a little further afield from Mayrhofen then you won't be short of options - the Zillertal really is a mountain lover's paradise, as becomes more obvious the longer you spend there. Once you get through this list of routes, get started on one of our other guidebooks to this fabulous part of Austria.
