Starting on the summit of the Ramshead and heading the major drainage gully to the north, dropping down to Leatherbarrel Creek
Freeride Skiing Difficult
Dropping steeply from the summit of the Ramshead, this run follows the major drainage gully, dropping down through steep rock bands to the creek below. On that note, it's really important for riders to assess if the snow conditions are adequate, which can be scoped well from the mellow runs to the north, eg the Leatherbarrel Creek return marked on the map, which also act as a warm up for this challenging run as well as The Corrie. To access this run, head to the summit of the Ramshead, and head directly north, the gully is fairly obvious towards the west, or you can alternatively head through the rock bands directly from the summit. This is serious terrain, and you will need a base of over 75 cm at Spencer's Creek to consider doing one of these lines, conditions in this area changes year to year, with different lines opening up, but there is a steep gully at the centre of the outcrop which loads up regularly, and provides some really steep skiing for a couple of hundred metres before dropping into the main gully. Lower down the gradient mellows slightly, but provides more open terrain leading into some gladed areas before the creek. This overall gives a vertical of around 500 metres, slightly more than The Corrie. The best return trip is to follow the Leatherbarrel Creek Return to the top of the Ramshead as shown on the map.
