Marbrées Direct Map

From the top lift station of the Skyway Monte Bianco, ski down and across the flat plateau. Instead of skiing up around to the normal entry of the Marbrée, head to the right of the Aiguille Marbrées and climb a short 50 degree couloir coming down from the ridgeline. This can sometimes involve some easy mixed scrambling. There are several small couloirs here, climb whichever one looks the most straightforward. From the top of the ridge, descend a steep and exposed rocky ridge the other side heading skier's right. This top entrance is a little steeper and more technical to ski then the classic start from the col. The reward is that it is a more direct line with more fall-line skiing The slopes are also more east facing and receive less sun in the winter than the classic start. You soon join up with the classic Marbrée descent. Now go down and move left to a large plateau, heading towards Val Ferret. Be aware of the big couloirs above your head that can avalanche when there are high temperatures or after snowfalls. When you reach the woods keep always a bit left until you reach the small and charming Rôchefort village. Ski down to the Val Ferret road and from here walk down 30 minutes to the Sky Way or wait for the public bus.
