Steep chutes that are rarely open
Freeride Skiing Severe
Steep rocky chutes that drop South from the Baldy boot pack. Peer down them next to the CLOSED sign while hiking toward Baldy. Every once in a while, Snowbird will open these chutes and they are very fun to ski in the right conditions. Because they are south facing, they can often have poor snow conditions.
Severe
Steep skiing at 38-45 degrees. This requires very good technique and the risk of falling has serious consequences.
