Much of this walk is on a path between the tiergarten wall and hedge rows of residences. It’s a decidedly more urban setting than inside the tiergarten, but remains removed from city bustle and makes a pleasant setting for a walk nonetheless. Cuisine enthusiasts will find a distinct advantage to this route in the wine taverns and guesthouses along the way. Inside the preserve there are not as many stops for refreshment. Route 2 eventually rejoins Route 1 at the terminus of Stage 6, which is at the main gate Lainzer on Hermesstrasse.
