Description

At first glance the skiing at Seefeld doesn't look particularly exciting - all you can see from the village is cruisy pistes, some pretty mountains and lots of mellow trees. There is however a truly spectacular lift lurking in the Seefeld ski area - the Härmelekopfbahn cable car. The Härmelekopfbahn goes to the summit of a mountain that is visible from Seefeld village but the skiable side of this peak is visible only once you arrive at the foot of the lift.

The terrain the lift accesses is staggering and for those with a sense of adventure, some all round mountain skills and (if you really want to get the most out of it) a ski touring setup, there is a lifetime of exploration to be done from the Härmelekopfbahn. The lift takes you to the edge of the Karwendel National Park and some of the adventures listed here take you into that wildest of mountain ranges. Others "only" involve hiking a bit before skiing back into resort, but every line here is adventurous and exciting.

Don't be fooled by first impressions - Seefeld is an epic place to ski....when you know where to look!
