Zermatt is home to over 400km of hiking network trails and 38 four thousand-metre peaks, including the magnificent 4,478-metre-high Matterhorn mountain dominating the skyline.

There are strenuous summit climbs, remote alpine lakes, and short family-friendly excursions all within easy reach of the beautiful car-free town of Zermatt. As well as the views, a reliable chairlift system, and well-signed trails, there is, of course, the other bonus of hiking in the Swiss Alps: the reward of hearty cheese fondue in a quaint mountain hut!
