Nestled in the Ötztal Valley, Sölden is one of the best freeride resorts in Austria. After skiing these lines, you'll see why!
Freeride Skiing Moderate, Difficult, Severe
With high peaks, varied terrain and a long season, Sölden is a skier's paradise. The resort is snow-sure and there's so much space that you can really make the most of all that powder. These lines will take you around the highlights of the area but there is much to explore when you've worked your way through these. There's something for everyone in this list, and whether you're new to freeriding or are looking for steep couloirs, you'll find something in here to put a smile on your face.
The whole of the Ötztal Valley is amazing and offers everything from ski touring to hiking and biking. Sölden is a great place to start your exploration of the area because it's midway down the main valley and parts of the resort offer great viewpoints from where you can get your bearings and plan future adventures.
Perhaps the biggest ski adventure in the valley is the multi day tour around the huge peaks at the southern end of the area, including the Wildspitze - Tirol's highest mountain. If you want to take on the challenge, here's everything you need to know.
