Description

"Mammoth Mountain Bike Park was one of the first bike parks to open in the country, and it continues to stay at the forefront," writes MTBParks.com. Helping Mammoth remain in the upper echelon of downhill bike parks is its massive network of over 80 miles of trail. Multiple lifts serve up over 3,000 vertical feet of descending on gnarly singletrack that spreads across the entire resort. Simply put, Mammoth Mountain Bike Park is "mammoth" and is arguably the best downhill bike park in the USA.

Mammoth has played a long and storied role in the development of mountain biking as a sport, and downhill racing as a discipline. One of the first major downhill races, the Kamikaze Downhill, was held on these slopes for many years. Kamikaze drove the development of the original breed of downhill bikes, and you can still ride the course today.

With over 80 miles of trail, Mammoth Mountain can serve all different skill levels of mountain bikers from beginners to expert… but the bent of the park definitely swings toward the expert end of the spectrum. You'll find a plethora of double black diamond runs consisting of rocky chutes, drops, chunder, wooden features, and all other manner of gnar. In fact, many of the double black diamond runs at Mammoth as "pro-lines," so be sure to scout the features when you tackle Mammoth's most technical trails.

Whether you're learning new skills in the Discovery Zone, flying down intermediate flow trails, or ripping through some of the most difficult downhill runs in the nation, Mammoth Mountain Bike Park will never get old!
